The Municipality of Surahammar is situated right in the middle of Mälardalen, north of Västerås. The Municipality consists of three smaller towns, Surahammar, Ramnäs and Virsbo. Strömsholm´s Canal winds its way through the entire municipality from Bergslagen to Lake Mälaren.
